Group therapy is a remarkably impactful and widely-accepted mode of therapy. Research indicates that group therapy is often just as effective or more effective than individual therapy, and can often be the most impactful way to create meaningful and lasting change. Our main priority in group therapy is to empower our clients and help them to create the positive change they wish to see in their lives.
Group therapy is an opportunity to take a deep dive into personal transformation. Group therapy is one of the most empowering things an individual can do to grow significantly. There are many benefits of group therapy such as self-discovery, facilitating lifestyle changes, cultivating coping strategies, receiving and providing support, feeling heard and accepted, building deeper relationships, and many more. Group therapy can help with gaining awareness that you are not alone in the challenges you are in the process of overcoming.
At CCG, we offer a full range of groups, such as DBT skills groups , process groups , Emotion Fitness Program groups , CBT groups , Mindfulness groups and The Professional Series. We are continuously forming new and unique groups tailored to our clients’ needs, so please contact us if you are interested in joining a group with a focus area we are not yet offering.
The Counseling Center GroupTM offers individual therapy for children, adolescents and adults. We work with individuals who may feel overwhelmed, stuck in a deep rut, or who may be struggling to envision positive change in their future. Our therapists offer multiple tools and techniques, supported by research, to support clients of any age experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, job or school-related difficulties, relational or phase-of-life issues, and more.
At CCG we work with couples who are seeking positive change in their marriage or romantic relationships. Our therapists treat couples of all ages, identifying genders, and sexual orientations. Couples who choose to actively participate in improving their emotional connection with one another will learn to identify the root of their concerns, effectively resolve conflict, increase satisfaction, have open and honest communication, and develop empathy for each other’s perspectives.
According to research by the American Association of Marriage and Family, couples therapy has been proven to help over 97% of couples reach their treatment goals. In addition, 93% of couples reported therapy gave them more effective tools and techniques to utilize as conflict occurred. Although many couples seek help after serious issues have already occurred, many couples choose to participate in couples therapy as a preventative intervention. By engaging in therapy before serious issues occur, couples are able to learn the skills necessary to avoid conflict in the future that could potentially evolve into serious hardships for the relationship. Most relationships go through periods of time in which one or both partners feels a loss of connection or “checked out.” There are many tools and interventions that can help a couple reclaim the relationship they once had.
In order for couples to get the specialized guidance they need to resolve their conflicts, our counselors draw on various methods, including the Gottman Method, Imago Relationship Therapy and Discernment Counseling.
Family therapy is beneficial for families who may be experiencing any situation that is causing grief, stress, anger, isolation, guilt, or conflict. Family therapy at the Counseling Center Group™ provides families the opportunity to identify and solve the root causes of conflicts, the meanings behind them, understand each other’s perspectives, improve open communication, and understand each other’s individual roles in order to gain deeper connections and a more functional home life. We also offer parent skills training and parent coaching to assist parents with evidence-based tools that are proven to help benefit the entire family.
