The Counseling Center Group

Welcome To

The Counseling Center Group®
Therapy for a better life

The Counseling Center Group® is dedicated to helping you live a life you love. We are committed to providing relatively short-term therapy treatments designed to achieve positive, long-lasting results.

Our team of therapists use structured, evidence-based methods to help you reach realistic goals in the most efficient manner. We recognize that you need sensible strategies to achieve your desired outcomes, not years of open-ended therapy that simply validates your concerns. Each member of our team operates with that core value in mind and can work with you one-on-one or in group therapy in an environment that embraces diversity,  equity and inclusion. We take pride in helping individuals, couples, and families make life-enhancing changes and transitions.

At the Counseling Center Group, we can help you discover your authentic self; understand the emotions, thoughts and actions that keep you stuck in place; and master the tools you need to live a fulfilling life.

Our Therapy Specialties and Services:

The Counseling Center Group® is a practice dedicated to providing professional counseling therapy services. Our skilled therapists bring many years of experience from a wide variety of specialty areas. It is our philosophy that many clients can benefit from specific tools and then use those tools in their everyday life. Therefore, we do our best to empower you to live your life without the need for prolonged therapy.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a safe space for you to explore issues that impact your daily functioning or sense of wellbeing. With the guidance of an experienced therapists, you can develop insight into yourself and learn new strategies for handling difficult situations or emotions.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy, also known as marriage counseling or relationship therapy, is a type of Marriage counseling  that helps couples improve their relationships. It is a form of psychotherapy that is designed to address the specific issues and challenges that couples face in their relationships.

Group Therapy

Group therapy provides a supportive environment for individuals who are struggling with similar issues or challenges to share their experiences and support one another. Group sessions provide an opportunity for members to develop insight, learn new skills, and gain perspective from others.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy

The process is shorter than traditional therapy and is very effective in resolving trauma. The therapist guides the client through a series of eye movements that help to release the emotional impact of the trauma. The therapist also helps the client to reframe the event so that it no longer has the same emotional charge.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that was developed by Marsha M. Linehan to help people with borderline personality disorder (BPD). It is a highly structured, skills-based therapy that focuses on helping people learn new coping mechanisms to manage their emotions and behaviors.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a form of therapy that deals with present-day challenges rather than delving into past history or childhood experiences. It is a structured approach that identifies specific goals and proposes techniques to help clients meet those goals in a short time frame.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Children (DBT-C)

DBT-C is specifically designed for pre-adolescents who have trouble regulating intense emotions and therefore tend to act impulsively, overreact to situations, resist change, think in absolutes, and lash out verbally or physically when they are emotionally overwhelmed.

Eye Movement Desensitize/Reprocess Therapy (EMDR)

EMDR therapy helps individuals recover from distressing life experiences that show up repetitively, as well as trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression and panic disorders. It is a successful, evidence-based treatment that helps to diminish the effects of these experiences.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy-Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE)

In DBT-PE, clients initially work with the therapist to establish safety and gain the skills needed to cope with addressing trauma. While continuing in all modes of standard DBT, DBT-PE then addresses memories and beliefs related to the client’s trauma history.

Parent Child Interaction (PCIT) Therapy

The ultimate goal of PCIT is to enhance the parent-child relationship by helping caregivers learn ways to relate to their children warmly while also having a predictable and consistent output. PCIT also teaches caregivers how to structure and follow through with effective limits.

Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) Therapy

PEERS has been expanded to develop other social skills geared toward  career advancement, dating, friendship, educational classes, and other life experiences. We offer individual and group sessions that are designed to help you gain the skills needed to live a more independent and successful life.

Gottman Method Couples Therapy

The Gottman Method is a form of couples therapy that was developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman based on over 40 years of research on what makes relationships work.  It focuses on emotionally supportive communication and understanding each partner’s needs in order to foster a healthy relationship.

Imago Relationship Therapy (IRT) Therapy

IRT, or Imago relationship therapy, is a form of couples therapy that evaluates points of conflict in a relationship and reframes them as opportunities to understand, learn, heal, and grow. It is based on the idea that the conflict between two people can be a source of healing, and that resolving those conflicts can lead to deeper connection.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Therapy

Mindfulness and mindfulness stress reduction is designed to help individuals live their lives to the fullest, and to do so by actually living in this moment. What this means is that instead of getting stuck in the past, worrying about the future, or ruminating over thoughts and emotions, mindfulness encourages individuals to stay grounded in what’s happening now.

Emotional Fitness Program (EFP) Therapy

With a combination of psychotherapy and DBT skills work, the Emotion Fitness Program (EFP) is considered a lower-intensity alternative to DBT without the full commitment of the DBT program. EFP gives clients the space to explore current and past relationships, stresses, coping skills, and life satisfaction.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

ART draws from several existing therapeutic approaches in order to reprogram how our brain stores upsetting memories or images to reduce the severity of distressing reactions. It combines elements of traditional talk therapy with creative activities to help us process difficult experiences and learn healthier coping skills. ART focuses on the connection between our thoughts, feelings, behavior, and body sensations.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Therapy

EFT operates on the idea that the human body is like an electrical circuit with a constant flow of energy that can be disrupted by stressors. These disruptions lead to negative emotions and pain. EFT uses finger tapping on specific acupressure points while focusing on the problem to restore the body’s energy balance. The tapping is meant to release negative emotions and provide relief.

Our Mission

Together, we will look at feelings, thoughts, sensations, and behaviors as vehicles to affirmative change

The Counseling Center Group® (CCG) is dedicated to providing relatively short-term treatment to our clients to enable them to make significant, long-lasting change. We utilize treatments that are highly effective to enable our clients to work towards their ultimate goals (what they most want in their lives) quickly and effectively. We do what works…as supported by research.

We were extremely selective in curating our team of therapists, each of whom excels in their chosen therapeutic approach and shares a commitment to providing clients with the tools they need to live the life they want. The treatments we provide are all backed by research and designed to be efficient so that clients need not make a prolonged commitment therapy in order to thrive.
