Hi, my name is Jeanily, and I am a trauma-informed therapist who is deeply passionate about working with communities of color, those in the LGBTQIA+ community, and other marginalized individuals.

Clinician Spotlight! Getting To Know Jeanily Cruz

I take a strengths-based approach to empower my clients to use the skills they already hold to heal and support their overall mental wellness. I use a trauma-informed lens along with modalities such as CBT, DBT and mindfulness to help clients explore the root of their experiences, shift negative thinking, and empower them to embrace a fuller life.

If you are struggling with anxiety, relational issues, self esteem, boundaries or you come from a family or culture where mental health is swept under the rug; If you find yourself stuck, shrinking, or sometimes unable to use your voice- I am here to help gently

guide you back to your authentic self by creating a safe space to process and make meaning of your experiences.

I am a strong believer in showing up just as we are-wherever we are in our journey. I come from the philosophy of Ubuntu which says, “I am because you are” and believe that we do not heal in isolation but rather in communion with others. There is power in storytelling and it would be a great honor to hold space for you and your unique story.

My journey towards the helping profession really began at a young age where I found myself mentoring and supporting the younger kids in my neighborhood. It was something that always came very naturally to me. Being a first generation student, I was usually the go-to person for navigating complex systems within my family. In college, as I studied youth advocacy along with psychology and human behavior, the therapist in me soon began to blossom. Supporting and advocating on behalf of marginalized groups and mentoring young people for much of my early life and career was something I grew very passionate about. Whether tackling language/cultural barriers, or socioeconomic differences, I found myself to be quite resourceful and naturally pretty good at problem solving. My interest in psychology soon grew into a love for everything neuroscience and later mental health which has led me quite appropriately into supporting clients in therapy.

Healing is a birthright. No matter what you’ve experienced and gone through-you deserve joy!

That was a little bit about me, I hope to get to know a little bit about you! If my experience and my specialities resonated with you, please do not hesitate to reach out. To book an appointment with Jeanily Cruz, click here, email info@ccgrouptherapy.com or call us at 301-742-2282.
