Hello my name is Rachel and I’m a therapist at The Counseling Center Group in New York. My primary focus is on helping clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma related stressors, personality disorders, life transitions, lack of motivation, navigating relationships, body image, and self-esteem.
In session, I incorporate elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and mindfulness. I am also certified in eye-movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) trauma therapy as well. In my opinion, EMDR is very special. It is a trauma therapy based in CBT practice that is used to target painful or traumatic memories. The goal of EMDR is to alleviate symptoms of trauma and help a person heal and move forward in a more effective way.
It sounds so cliche but I was born to do therapy. Even as a child, I was very precocious and curious about people and their stories. I’m a natural helper/healer and I’ve always wanted to be the person that younger me needed.
