Emotion Fitness Program Groups

The EFP Group is ideal for individuals struggling with anxiety, feelings of depression, relational issues, difficulty with emotional experiences, and more.

With a combination of psychotherapy and DBT skills work, the Emotion Fitness Program (EFP) Group is considered a lower-intensity alternative to DBT without the full commitment of the DBT program.

Where to begin

The Counseling Center Group’s EFP develops competencies designed to boost clients’ self-confidence, help them overcome obstacles,increase motivation, influence others’ actions, and increase their conceptual and analytical abilities. You can think of the EFP Group as an opportunity to learn “The Greatest Hits of Effective Tools.”

Five Core Ideas

There are many different methods and exercises that are used in the EFP Group, such as DBT, Buddhist philosophies and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) that will help to develop these five core areas:
