Emma Ratpojanakul, LMSW

Emma is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Virginia. She has a special interest in working with clients experiencing life transitions, cultural and racial identity issues, ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-care/work-life balance, self-esteem, and relationship issues.

Prior to her career change, Emma came from a background in global marketing for a large hospitality company.  During the pandemic, she decided to combine her passions for human connection and mental health in a switch to clinical social work. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and her Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Fordham University. Emma’s clinical experience is with an employee assistance program where she is worked with clients experiencing suicidal ideation, family conflict, trauma, anxiety, depression, and more.

Emma seeks to create a therapeutic relationship with her clients built on trust, comfort, and emotional safety; she tailors her approach to each session by meeting the client where they’re at in their therapy journey, making sure they feel heard and supported. She likes to incorporate elements from various modalities such as person-centered therapy, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy.
