Jennie has experience working in various levels of care including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, community mental health, and private practice settings. She is passionate about working with adolescents, adults, LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC populations, and works with a variety of presenting concerns including, but not limited to, trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicidal ideation, emotion regulation and self-esteem issues, relationship distress, grief, life transitions, identity issues, and mood and personality disorders.
Jennie believes every client is unique and therefore takes an eclectic approach to working with her clients, pulling from a variety of theoretical orientations while tailoring to a client’s specific needs. Some of these she incorporates include client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and may utilize expressive arts exercises. She is a firm believer in understanding our own stories and how that connects to who we are in the present. Jennie takes a special interest in trauma work, inspiring her to become trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy and Advanced Accelerated Resolution Therapy through the Rosenzweig Center for Rapid Recovery.
Jennie received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Washington University. Prior, she graduated from Pennsylvania State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
In her spare time, Jennie enjoys going to the beach, going on long walks with her dog, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family.
