Tim Oh, LMSW

Tim provides clinical care to adults and adolescents with anxiety, depression, trauma and stressor-related disorders, substance abuse, dual diagnosis, and high-risk behaviors such as suicidality and self-harm. He strives to be collaborative and compassionate in his approach and emphasizes relational attunement with those he works with.

Tim is trained and experienced in successfully delivering evidence-based modalities such as comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Additionally, he weaves in his intersectionality as well as a decade long practice of mindfulness and yoga in a process-based treatment for individuals. He is also a trained practitioner in Brainspotting, a somatic mind-body treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, and dissociation.

Depending on the clinical needs of a client, Tim will provide adherent comprehensive DBT, CBT, and CPT treatment. Previously, he provided clinical care through Columbia University Irving Medical Center as part of the faculty practice organization and their DBT®-Linehan Board certified, high-fidelity DBT team. Tim is intensively trained in DBT through Behavioral Tech Institute.

Tim has experience providing individual and group psychotherapy for intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization treatment to people with mental health, substance abuse, and dual diagnosis challenges. Previously, he has volunteered with the Zendo Project and provided crisis intervention and harm reduction to those who are experiencing non-ordinary states of consciousness.

Tim received his Master of Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work where he received extensive training through Dr. Andre Ivanoff’s DBT training program.
