Emotion Freedom Technique (EFT)

EFT is a self-applied treatment for physical pain and emotional distress. It is commonly referred to as “tapping” or “acupressure.”

EFT operates on the idea that the human body is like an electrical circuit with a constant flow of energy that can be disrupted by stressors. These disruptions lead to negative emotions and pain. EFT is a sister to acupuncture. Both focus on the meridian points, more commonly referred to as pressure points (or “hot spots” in EFT).

The Benefits of EFT Therapy

Based on ancient Chinese philosophy that have been validated by recent studies, energy flows through these hot spots and pathways help to maintain balance. Any imbalances may lead to pain, emotional distress, or sickness.  Whereas acupuncture uses needles to reach these pressure points, EFT uses finger tapping to apply pressure to the meridian points. EFT therapists guide you through the process of accessing these meridian points to help reduce the negative feelings that are stemming from anxiety, depression, and stress, essentially restoring the energy circuit that was disrupted. Anyone experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, or pain may benefit from EFT.
