Mindfulness and Mindfulness-based stress Reduction (MBSR)

Mindfulness and mindfulness stress reduction is designed to help individuals live their lives to the fullest, and to do so by actually living in THIS moment.

Mindfulness training explores the works of Jon Kabat-Zinn, Daniel Goldman, Marsha Linehan, Tara Brach, Thich Nhat Hanh, Adyashanti, Donald Altman, and Michael Singer, among others.

How Can Mindfulness Help Reduce Stress?

One of the main causes of stress is rumination or spending too much time dwelling on negative thoughts. When we ruminate, we get stuck in a loop of negative thinking that can be hard to break out of. Mindfulness can help break this loop by teaching us to observe our thoughts without getting caught up in them. Once we learn to step back and observe our thoughts, we can see them for what they are: just thoughts. They are not necessarily true, and they do not have power over us unless we give them power.

How mindfulness works

Mindfulness works by helping us to become more aware of our thoughts and feelings as they arise, without judgment. This allows us to take a step back from our automatic reactions to stressful situations and respond in a more deliberate way. The goal is not to get rid of our negative thoughts and feelings, but rather to observe them dispassionately and move on.
