Ahuva Chefitz, LMSW

Ahuva is a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) providing individual therapy. She received her master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University’s School of Social Work on the advanced clinical track. Ahuva’s practice is built upon trust and creating a non-judgmental and welcoming environment for her clients, where they truly feel heard and supported.

Ahuva is passionate about working with clients with generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, specific phobias, intimate partner violence, school and work related stress, and all types of relationship issues. Ahuva is enthusiastic about employing all aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), specifically exposure therapy when necessary. Ahuva has completed the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Foundational Training through the Linehan Institute and is eager to utilize DBT with her clients.

Ahuva has most recently worked with adolescents at a high school in Rockville, Maryland where she specifically addressed adjustment issues with students new to high school as well as students experiencing anxiety and depression. Ahuva also completed a clinical internship working with survivors of domestic violence at Shalom Task Force, a non-profit organization in New York City.

Ahuva’s goal is to introduce her clients to the skills and tools that they need in order to be most successful on their own, as well as using the best evidence-based treatment plan for each client’s individual needs.
